Special Education Services

At McGrath, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed. This mission comes to life through a strong, unified partnership with the Special School District of St. Louis County. Together, we provide comprehensive, high-quality special education services for students right here in our school.

In elementary school, special education services are fully integrated to meet the individual needs of each student, as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). McGrath educators and Special School District staff—including teachers, paraprofessionals and therapists—work side by side as one team to deliver a seamless system of support.

Depending on each student’s needs, services may include:

  • Specialized instruction
  • Speech and language therapy
  • Occupational or physical therapy
  • Academic interventions
  • Behavioral or social-emotional supports

These services are provided in a variety of settings—from small-group instruction to in-class support—so students can learn and grow in the environment that best supports their success.

Our shared goal is to create an inclusive learning community where all students can access the general education curriculum and participate as valued members of our school. By working together as one unified team, we empower every student to reach their full potential, develop their strengths and build the confidence to take on new challenges.
